Terms of Service

Effective 12 July 2026

1. The service

Shiori provides FXstudio, a command palette and workflow suite for Adobe After Effects, distributed as desktop software together with the shiori.shop website, accounts, and licensing service (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, purchasing a plan, or using the software, you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts

You need an account to activate FXstudio. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity that happens under your account. You must provide an accurate email address so we can reach you about your licence, billing, and security.

3. Licence

Subject to your plan, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use FXstudio on your own machines. You may not resell, sublicense, share licence keys, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the software. A lifetime licence is a licence to the software for as long as we offer it — it is not a transfer of ownership of the software itself.

4. Payments, renewals & refunds

Paid plans are billed through Stripe, our payment processor, in USD. Subscriptions (monthly, quarterly, annual) renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel anytime from your dashboard and keep access until the end of the paid period. Lifetime is a one-time purchase.

All purchases are final. Payments are non-refundable except where the law of your jurisdiction requires otherwise. Prices may change; changes never apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t use the Service to break the law, interfere with the Service or other users, or attempt to circumvent licensing or device limits. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms; where practical we’ll warn you first.

6. Updates & availability

Active plans include updates to the suite. We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation — FXstudio also depends on Adobe After Effects, which we do not control. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

7. No warranty & limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Always keep backups of your projects.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shiori’s total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost work, lost profits, or corrupted project files.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ontario. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights you hold under mandatory local law.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we’ll notify you by email or on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
